Cookie policy
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as the browser’s local storage, work in a similar way. This policy explains which ones SimplePOS uses and how you can control them. It is part of our Privacy policy.
Cookies we set
| Name | Type | Purpose | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
pos_sess, pos_sess_p, pos_sess_r | Essential | Keeps you signed in securely (HTTP-only): one for the business app, one for the admin portal and one for the partner portal, so each can stay signed in separately. | Until you sign out, or up to 30 days with “Remember me” |
site_lang | Preference | Remembers the website language you chose. | 1 year |
pos_ref, pos_rfr | Essential | Remembers which partner or referrer sent you, so a sign-up is credited correctly. | 30 days |
pos_wsid (and browser storage pos_vid) | Statistics | Our own website statistics: counts visits and pages without identifying you personally. Not shared with third parties. | 2 hours (pos_vid: until cleared) |
Browser storage (theme, menu, tour, cookie notice) | Preference | Remembers screen choices such as dark mode, a collapsed menu, that you have seen the tour or closed this notice. | Until cleared |
Essential cookies are needed for the website and the Service to work and cannot be switched off in our systems. Sign-in protection may also use Cloudflare Turnstile, which can set its own essential cookie to tell people and bots apart.
Third-party advertising cookies (only if advertising is switched on)
Our public website pages may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies (for example IDE, __gads, __gpi and NID) to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure results and — where you allowed it — personalise ads based on your visits to this and other websites. No ads or advertising cookies are used inside the Service after you sign in.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent message from Google lets you accept or refuse advertising cookies. If you refuse, only non-personalised ads (which still use cookies for frequency capping and fraud prevention) may be shown.
- You can turn off personalised ads at Google Ads Settings and learn more at how Google uses cookies in advertising.
- Other vendors: www.aboutads.info · www.youronlinechoices.eu.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings (look for “Privacy” or “Cookies”). Blocking essential cookies will stop you from signing in. Deleting cookies also resets your language and other choices on this website.
